Think of all the fun things you could do with this! Perfect as place settings at a wedding or as treat boxes for wedding or baby showers. Just fill with candies, mints, or other trinkets. My middle son wants a Pirate B-day party next month and so I thought it would be a fun tradition to give each child a piece of theme'd birthday cake filled with little goodies waiting for them at breakfast on their birthday! I'll post his when I make it.
This is my favorite part - I used Baby Pink grosgrain ribbon and some embroidery floss to create the "frosted" edge. Then I cut up some of our Big Pink's paper flowers and layered them along the back side of the cake to make the rest of the frosting. For the top of the flower, I used a combination of Big Pinks, layered in between 3-D Foam squares and then topped with a pretty Sparkle to really give the cake some dimension and a little bit of height. The cake is covered using our Floral Tapestry paper.
If anyone knows how I can attach an adobe template to my blog, I will be more than happy to share. I wish I knew who to give credit to for the template and I could give them my applause. I think I got it from our awesome Close To My Heart consultant bulletin board years ago. I believe you can make several pieces to create an entire cake! YuMMMMy!

That is soooo cute, Teri! Would you be willing to share the pattern with me (or at least share where you got it)?? :-) Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks!

ReplyDeleteVery cute! Would you be so kind as to email me the pattern as I need to make birthday surprises for the teachers from the PTA and these look adorable. Thanks so much, Leslie (email: lgranger@tampapbay.rr.com)
